Turquoise Dreams

Turquoise Dreams

Turquoise is timeless.

And not just because of its striking colour and appearance, a geological alchemy achieved over millions of years.

The significance and symbolism of turquoise spans centuries of global cultures; it has been worn and prized by Ancient Egyptians, the Turks of the Persian Empire, as well as Aztecs, Mayans, and Indigenous tribes of North America. The sacred turquoise stone was thought to connect sky and water energy with the earth and to strengthen mystic gifts such as visions, dreams, and intuition. Because of this, turquoise was often worn as a form of protection, in travel and in battles.
Each concho disc features a scalloped daisy motif with a turquoise-coloured stone at its centre.
Turquoise has been absorbed into western-wear and prairie style via jewelry and accessories. The rise in popularity of turquoise jewelry began with gifted Navajo silversmiths in the southwestern United States nearly 200 years ago, who learned their trade through Mexican artisans. Authentic pieces have become cherished talismans of the region, to be worn proudly.
With vintage flair and rustic detailing, this faux-turquoise ring stands out when worn on its own, or as the perfect complement to additional turquoise pieces.
Turquoise elevates southwestern looks with a vivid earthiness that is right at home with denim and leather. It captures the fusion of “old west” and boho chic, feeling both upscale and down-home at the same time.

Consider adding these classic turquoise accessories to your wardrobe for a modern country flair...

Concho Belt

Our Turquoise Concho Belt is a chain-link design that drapes easily over the hips.
“Concho” comes from the Spanish word “concha”, meaning “shell”, and the first conchos were created by Navajo silversmiths who melted down Mexican pesos and hammered them out into “shells”. They often engraved the silver discs or fitted out with semi-precious stones.

Our Turquoise Concho Belt is a chain-link design that drapes easily over the hips. Each concho disc features a scalloped daisy motif with a turquoise-coloured stone at its centre. This adjustable belt is the perfect southwestern accent to your favourite pair of jeans, maxi skirt, or sundress.
